Going Green? Just our thumbs...
Now that we've got six months of marriage under our belts (going rather well, if I do say so myself) Todd and I have decided it's time to take up a productive hobby. Whilst mulling over this and what to get Todd's mom for Mother's Day, we came upon the perfect idea! Gardening. We'll plant a rose bush for Todd's mom and a windowsill herb garden for us. Todd already knows a bit about growing green things from his time on the botany team. (I'm not even joking. Just call the man Neville Longbottom.) So, we head off on a whirlwind tour of Millcreek Gardens, Home Depot, and Wal-Mart to gather all the supplies. Todd's roses come in big pots. My herb seeds come in tiny paper packets that only cost 50 cents each.
This is how Todd gardens.
And this is his result.
Pretty impressive, right? You only think that because you haven't seen what my pink elephant watering can and I can do!
This is how I garden.
And here's what I end up with.
Those are going to be fragrant thyme plants, to be used in conjunction with my other prospective hobby, gourmet cooking.
So, it turns out that adding pictures to blog posts is very complicated for me. This may or may not end up looking like a ridiculous jumbled mess. I'll practice though.

Awesome awesome awesome! Your lil' elephant is squee-lightful. You guys are the best, I can't wait to admire Todd's roses and have some tasty thyme soup, or whatever you make with it. You guys still win as the best couple on the planet. Plus, it's about time you posted something on the Interweb, the world has been dying to hear from you. Promise you'll be more diligent than Amy and Ryan.
YAY! This is the best day ever, a new blog post to read! I love your little garden. I think you shall have to invite us over when you try out the herbs in some awesome recipes.
Also, I have issues with posting pictures too. I don't know why they make it so dang difficult, but they do. Keep trying. The blog updates are worth it, for me at least.
Imagine my delight when I was doing my usual blog stalking at work, and noticed that your blog was updated! Oh I was so thrilled. Loved the photos of your wee little garden and I miss you pink elephant watering guy and I miss YOU. Blog more for my stalking pleasure :)
welcome back to the blog-sphere! love your watering container!
I'm so excited you hav a new post! Way to go gardening! I love the roses, and growing your own herbs is definitley exciting. The ones at the grocery store are so over-priced. So, way to be green, economical, and fun all at the same time! Glad this first six months has been a success. :) Hope to hear more soon!
Hello, Katie & Todd!
I was just thumbing through some of my "favorites" and I decided to take a look...You impressed me!
The gardening and the blog are far better than I can do. I'm a little impaired in both areas :(
You guys are so cute!
Todd, is Katie a gourmet chef yet? If she is anything like her mother, she will definitely satisfy all who grace her table.
Love you guys!
Yona
More! The news never sleeps, you know that!
Oh Katie, your pink elephant picture made my day. I forgot about that little thing! And hooray for an updated blog...you should do it more often. The pictures looked great (though I agree with the ridiculousness of posting pictures on here)
